the creator
V.C. Brannen graduated cum laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2007 with a BFA in sequential art and a minor in drawing. After a stint in the medical field as a polysomnographic technician, where she added "CPR certification" and "very flexible circadian rhythms" to her list of skills, she has since worked freelance and full-time in art and design. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
Her print skill set includes a solid knowledge of print production in various formats, including newsprint and magazine; strong abilities with Adobe CS2+ Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; and other programs such as QuarkXPress, Corel Painter IX, and the standard MS Office suite.
Her web design skills are concentrated on front-end design, including layout, graphics, and XHTML/CSS, with an eye towards meeting web standards and improving accessibility. She's experienced in using and creating custom themes for PHP-based software such as Zenphoto and Gallery, and can also create web banners and other online advertising graphics.
She's comfortable in both Mac and PC environments, though she does prefer Macs, and learns new and updated programs very quickly. Aside from an excellent sense of color and an eye for typography, she also comes with bonus spelling and grammar proofreading skills and can tell you what an Oxford comma is and when "its" should have an apostrophe in it.
Her multifarious creative talents also include fine art, especially portraiture; illustration in just about any media she can get her hands on; and comic scripting and drawing. In her spare time, she enjoys working in a wide range of artisan crafts, reading ridiculous amounts of books, not vacuuming, using too many adverbs, and installing Firefox on other people's computers when they're not looking.
